High Performance LAN's and WAN's
Are you getting the maximum performance from your hardware and computer network? Many businesses spend tens of thousands on the latest workstations and servers but don't get the performance they paid for due to old or inadequate wiring.

Infuse Technologies can wire your business with the latest cabling and wiring available. Twisted pair, high speed copper and fiber optic wiring systems are available depending on the application.

Twisted pair is the ordinary copper wire that connects business computers to the telephone company. To reduce crosstalk or electromagnetic induction between pairs of wires, two insulated copper wires are twisted around each other. Each connection on twisted pair requires both wires. Since some telephone sets or desktop locations require multiple connections, twisted pair is sometimes installed in two or more pairs, all within a single cable.

For some business locations, twisted pair is enclosed in a shield that functions as a ground. This is known as shielded twisted pair (STP). Ordinary wire to the home is unshielded twisted pair (UTP).

Twisted pair comes with each pair uniquely color coded when it is packaged in multiple pairs. Different uses such as analog, digital, and Ethernet require different pair multiples, a higher grade of twisted pair is often used for horizontal wiring in LAN installations because it is less expensive than coaxial cable and is easier to run.

Gigabit to the Desktop
It has been a long time coming, but Gigabit Ethernet has finally arrived for the desktop. Most desktop systems and servers now come with gigabit on board, and it's time businesses start to leverage those high-speed connections to their advantage. However, only a few people will actually need more than 100Mbps, and for a small part of the time. Gigabit Ethernet provides businesses the speed to stream video, quickly back up crucial data and access applications efficiently. While wiring is sometimes a concern, the majority of businesses are already wired with category 5 cable that can handle a signaling rate of 350MHz, the minimum needed for gigabit speeds. If wiring is not adequate, Infuse Technologies can install either the new category 5e or category 6 cabling, or fiber optic. Gigabit Ethernet is intended to cluster servers in a small data center, LAN backbones or highend workstations.

The wall jack can have as many five kinds of hole arrangements or pinouts, depending on the kinds of wire the installation expects will be plugged in (for example, coax, phone, or LAN). Jacks may be color coded for different peripherals or systems.
